1939 Martin D-28

-surely the finest example in existence

-all original, never had a neck reset, original frets

-bridge has never been off, original pins sit nice and tall

-no pick guard crack

-Adirondack Spruce top with herringbone trim

-scalloped bracing and small maple bridge plate

-Brazilian Rosewood back and sides

-mahogany neck with diamond volute

-1 3/4" nut has never been removed - later in 39 D-28's changed to 1 11/16" nut width

-original Grover tuners shine like new

-there has been a back crack repaired and painstakingly drop filled - no longer shows

-there was also a 1/2" section of finish repaired in the crease of the neck volute - it is so well done that it is invisible except under black light

-these repairs were performed by Mark Stutman of Folkway Music - great work

-original case in nice shape
