1941 Gibson ES-150

    1941 Gibson ES-150

-the ES-150 was first introduced in 1936 and featured a Charlie Christian blade pickup

-this 1941 model has it's original P-13 with adjustable pole pieces

-when Gibson mounted these pickups, they had to cut through the two tone bars (top braces) so, to prevent the top from sagging under string pressure, they installed 2 sound posts (wooden dowels) - these were often lost or removed but this guitar still has them securely in place and the top is perfectly arched

-16 1/14" body with a carved spruce top finished in sunburst

-carved maple back and maple sides - there is a repaired back crack

-mahogany neck with Brazilian rosewood fingerboard

-tapered headstock with pearl "Script" style logo

-pearloid was all the rage during this time period and some Gibson arch tops featured a pearloid truss rod cover - this could be original or it could have been added early in the life of the guitar

-3 of the tuners are original Kluson and 3 are Waverly with metal buttons

-original notched tortoise pick guard and original knobs with arrows and no numbers

    -original trapeze tailpiece

-original Brazilian rosewood height adjustable bridge with compensated upper section

-the original finish has no overspray or touchups and is in remarkable condition

-original Gieb "Red Line" case in nice condition

-Note: during the war years, production ceased and in 1946 they re-introduced this model but with a 17" body and P-90 pickup
